The club was formed to give the members opportunities to network, as well as for social and educational events. The first annual meeting of the Kellogg Alumni Club of India was held in Mumbai in October 2002. 

Members of the alumni club are available to advice and assist Indian Alumni who are interested in returning back to India. 

There are several members of the Kellogg Alumni Club who are also members of the Alumni Admissions Organization. The members help the office of Kellogg admissions in:

• Conducting interviews of candidates from India who are unable to visit the Evanston campus.
• Providing updated information about Kellogg’s programs to prospective students in India.
• Identifying and encouraging prospective students who are well suited for Kellogg student life.
• Promoting Kellogg education and enhancing Kellogg’s reputation through personal accomplishments.
• Encouraging admitted candidates to join Kellogg.
